Faith Words: New - Again

When God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning, everything was perfect.  Everything was just as it was designed to be. Everything was shalom. And then, sin and death entered in and defiled God’s creation.

The time will come when God will make a new heaven and a new earth and restore the perfection, the shalom. Only, then, sin and death will not enter in and defile God’s creation.

Yes, the day will come and then...shalom!

Change - It's constant.  Some change I like.  Some I don't.  Change takes work.  But I need changing.  I certainly don't want to stay like I am forever.  A couple of weeks ago, we sang a song during worship that goes:  "Ancient words ever true, changing me and changing you."  That's the kind of change I need - the change only that God's Word can make in my heart. A new beginning - how many times have I asked God for a new beginning?  What will I do with this new year?  Will I set goals, make plans to do things I've put off doing in years past?  How can I be sure I'll follow through this year? I've decided to make this year different.  Oh, sure, I'll continue to set goals and make plans, but this year, I want to be more intentional about making the most of each day the Lord gives me.  With God's help, I want to live in today.
