Faith Words: Just For Today

As the new year begins, it's not uncommon to make New Year's Resolutions.  It's a good idea. It's just difficult to accomplish.   What if instead of New Year's Resolutions, we made New Day Resolutions?  Would it be easier to keep them if we made them just for today? Maybe so...maybe I can.  Like a boss I had at a previous job used to say, "How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time."  So maybe I can really keep resolutions one day at a time. Having trouble memorizing God's Word?  What if I write a verse on my heart in the morning and keep it there just for today? Does the same temptation lure me day after day, year after year?  What if I resist its draw just for today? There's an old song entitled:  To Love Someone More Dearly (My Task).  The lyrics share simple insight, speaking to simple steps that lead us one day at a time to our goal.
