Flapping My Wings Again........

Hi everyone! I just listened again to Margaret's audio about the Bees and our own roles within the Body.  I think she hit the nail on the head when she described the feeling of flapping my wings and going nowhere!  I want to encourage each of you to reevaluate your impact within your own Christian community and realize the valuable roles you've played.   Contentment is something I strive for on a daily basis and I am challenged to begin looking at whether or not I'm mostly a sweet aroma or a rotten smell (not just to my Father in Heaven but to our family here on earth).  Each of you have  definitely been a sweet aroma to me especially every time I look at this blog and find your responses and willingness to interact during our journey.  Anyone else craving honey lately? We are almost finished with our study together but before we move on to the last chapter, I would love to hear your insight about this one, so please comment if you have time.  Love you, Iris

New Audio post for Bees

Marc has loaded the new audio file for Chapter 3 on the Audio file page. You can access these files using the following link: Scouting the Divine Audio Files Next time you see Marc, tell him thanks for his time in getting these where we can listen. He will be updating the last one for us the following week. Hope you are being blessed by this amazing study. I surely am. I love the comments from everyone. Keep it up. When this class is over, we will continue the blog with other information of interest to our women. Have a great week of study. Brenda

The Harvest

I loved reading the beautiful story of Joe and his uncle Aaron and imagining the profound impact this relationship would have on them for eternity.  Have you ever learned a spiritual lesson or seen one reflected through your own farming or gardening experience?  Why do you think God  relates so closely to the land and farming?  Does God's concern for the land tell you anything about His character? If so, what? Blessings, Iris

Digging Deeper Comment by Margaret

Remember when Margaret talked about the neutered rams as "tame lawn mowers"?  Margaret writes this in the margin of the study guide and I found it to be pretty interesting and wanted to share with you: "For the sheep that always wanders off----and leads other sheep astray in the process----a shepherd may resort to breaking a leg of the sheep.  Then the shepherd would hand feed the sheep and carry it until the bone mended, hopefully curing it of its desire to wander." Ouch - I'm remembering times in my own life that maybe He had to break my leg to get my attention. hugs, Iris

Audio files for week one and two

The link below will take you to a private web page that has audio files from Margaret for week one and week two. When you land of the page you should see two audio choices. Select the "play" button and make sure your speakers are on. We had hoped to have the video as well, but the files were just too big. Each of these is about 10 minutes.  My experience is that my Mac would not load up the page. So if you are on a Mac, try it anyway - it may just be me! It worked great on my PC. Blessings to you in your reading. Isn't Margaret a blessing in the way she opens up the scripture to fresh new delights? Her ability to help us SEE is amazing. Love you girls! - Brenda Scouting the Divine Audio files

Questions to Ponder Week #1

Hello girls! I know you have to be enjoying the book already and like me, hate to stop reading ahead, but lets take some time to digest the beautifully painted word canvas she has laid out for us so far.  Margaret poses several great questions for this week's reading and I have chosen the following to get our discussion going: Why do you think sheep are mentioned so frequently in the Bible?  Have you changed your beliefs about sheep in general? Just as Lynne knows her sheep, God knows us.  How does it make you feel to know that God knows you so well?  Excited? Fearful? Encouraged? Intimidated? Talk back when you can - Love, Iris

Here We Go!

Hello Girls, I am so excited that you have chosen to join us for our first online study where we will dive into the book “Scouting the Divine” by Margaret Feinberg.  The way this works is, we all read a portion of the book each week and discuss it online.  I suppose you can describe this adventure together as a sort of “virtual book of the month club” J .  (Be sure and pick up your individual copy of the book at the GCRU Registration Booth, if you haven’t already done so.)  Even though our beginning date is set for Wednesday, January 5, 2011, you can start reading whenever you are ready  As the facilitator, I will try to place a few thought provoking questions or statements on the study blog from time to time and wait for you to jump in and share your own insights.   I hope you will feel free to participate in our ongoing discussions and leave comments when it’s convenient.  Let’s make this a fun and safe environment to grow our faith and make new friends!  We will be going through th
