Faith Words: New Power

Early this morning, we headed out to take care of some errands. We got in the car, turned the key and...nothing. No power - the battery was dead.  Not to be deterred, we got in our other car, turned the key and...nothing. No power - that battery was dead, too. Sometimes that how my life feels...no power. My spiritual battery is dead. But it doesn’t take a call to AAA or a trip to AutoZone to recharge my spirit.  A prayer to the Father, a trip to the Word, time with other believers and by His grace, I’m recharged.  That’s real power.  Empowered, Patrice ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬ But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Faith Words: New Chair

Our new chairs are arriving today!  We ordered them last fall in a beautiful blue tapestry fabric. We’ve been looking forward to this day ever since.  Even though we had a general idea of the delivery date, we didn’t know just when they’d be here till late last week.  Our old chairs started off as great chairs but the years have taken their toll on them. Thirty years ago, they were new.  But now they’re worn and stained. They sag more than a little, too.  It occurs to me where I’ve been “seated” in the past seemed comfortable for a long time but life has taken its toll there, too. Wear and stains are evidence of that.  But now, I know I have a new position, a new seat if you will, in Christ.  I have a general idea of when I’ll actually get to sit in my new seat and when I do, I’ll cast off my old worn out seat forever! Thank you, Lord! Patrice Ephesians‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬  And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, ... ‭‭
