Faith Words: The Donor List

Becky's twin grandsons are in a situation no two-year old should have to face.  One of the little boys was diagnosed with a form of leukemia in December and because they are identical twins, the doctors tell the family it's just a matter of time till his twin develops it, too.

As terrible as this news has been for the family, there is hope.  This kind of leukemia is considered very treatable and has a good remission rate.  A major part of their treatments will be bone marrow transplants. Both boys will go through this procedure and the doctors expect good outcomes.  There will be a great deal of pain, therapy and healing ahead for these two precious little boys.

To make the plan work, there is one critical factor each boy will need:  a bone marrow donor.  The list of possible donors has about 100 names on it and only a handful are matches for the boys.  What a blessing those donors are! Without them, where would this family be?

I'm praying for the potential donors. It's incredible what these good folks are willing to do.  God grant them good health, low stress, a window of opportunity that will minimize any inconvenience for them, and extra blessings for being so giving.

Please lift this little family up to the Lord, along with their donor heroes, remembering that when our lives were in peril, we were saved by our special Donor.  Without Him, where would any of us be?

Gratefully,

Patrice

Psalm 86:16 (NIV)

grant your strength to your servant

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and over flowing with thankfulness.

The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.
