Faith Words: Stand

Our daily life has changed into a surreal existence of waiting. In the waiting, we have a choice. Where do we stand?

It’s hard to know where to stand when we don’t know who the enemy is. Are we fighting a virus? Uncertain financial times?  Fear?  Isolation?  Who is our enemy?

The battle lines are drawn on many fronts but it’s clear to me who the real enemy is. Ephesians 6 reveals their true identity:

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

These are not enemies we can fight on our own. But we know the One who can fight them and be victorious:  God!  So if we can’t fight, what should we do?

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:13‬ ‭NKJV

So here are your orders from your Commander:

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-11, 14-20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Stand firm, sisters, and pray. Be prepared to be God’s ambassador.

Standing strong in the power of His might,

Patrice

Ephesians‬ ‭6:10‬, 13 NKJV‬‬

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
‭‭
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Therefore, He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.

Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus.
