Faith Words: In Him

Membership has its privileges. Discounts on flights and hotel rooms. Access to special events and people. The best seats. The best access. The best of everything. If you’re willing to pay the price of membership, you can have the privileges. 

But with our Lord, he’s one who paid the price and instead of keeping it all for himself, he gives us his privileges. When we’re in him, we have access to the Father and the Holy Spirit. We gain all the blessings without paying any of the cost.

Our Lord doesn’t just give us his privileges, he gives us himself. We become one with him and everything he is. 


Now, that’s amazing grace.

Change - It's constant.  Some change I like.  Some I don't.  Change takes work.  But I need changing.  I certainly don't want to stay like I am forever.  A couple of weeks ago, we sang a song during worship that goes:  "Ancient words ever true, changing me and changing you."  That's the kind of change I need - the change only that God's Word can make in my heart. Faith Words: January 1, 2012 - A New Beginning

A new beginning - how many times have I asked God for a new beginning?  What will I do with this new year?  Will I set goals, make plans to do things I've put off doing in years past?  How can I be sure I'll follow through this year? I've decided to make this year different.  Oh, sure, I'll continue to set goals and make plans, but this year, I want to be more intentional about making the most of each day the Lord gives me.  With God's help, I want to live in today. Today, I resolve to live, really live, whether I have it all together or not.  Today, I resolve to see the value in each day and not wish it away - or worse, waste it.  Today, I resolve to submit to God and what He has planned for me.  No more putting things off till tomorrow.  No more excuses  The time is now.  Today.  A new beginning.
