Faith Words: Safe

Sometimes life takes us through ups and downs we could never have imagined or, most certainly, never desired.  Sometimes it feels like you're being hit with one wave after another, without time to catch your breath between waves.

When I can't control what's happening to me, around me, the Lord reminds me that He is my Rock, my Fortress, in times of trouble.  He is my Firm Foundation.  I have to remind myself, too.  I have to choose to believe that Jesus is faithful, that His word is true.

So, I take the next step in faith that the Lord will see me through.  He's brought me this far; He won't abandon me now.

Safe in Him,

Faith Words: Here Again

I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to write again. Without John, I feel hollow and empty, so there were no words to write. But I think I’m ready now.  I started sharing my thoughts and verses to encourage others to memorize God’s word. God’s word is the foundation of our faith, so it seemed to me that writing His word on our hearts was good and would help us stay strong and remain faithful. I still believe that.  I also believe that sharing our faith and sharing the scriptures God writes on our hearts does more than encourage us individually. I believe this sharing builds up our bonds of love: the bonds that strengthen us no matter how many miles lie between us, the bonds that speak encouragement over us when we’re beaten down by life, the bonds that bring us joy when we remind each other of God’s promises.  So let’s do this again.
