Faith Words: New Chair

Our new chairs are arriving today!  We ordered them last fall in a beautiful blue tapestry fabric. We’ve been looking forward to this day ever since.  Even though we had a general idea of the delivery date, we didn’t know just when they’d be here till late last week.

Our old chairs started off as great chairs but the years have taken their toll on them. Thirty years ago, they were new.  But now they’re worn and stained. They sag more than a little, too.

It occurs to me where I’ve been “seated” in the past seemed comfortable for a long time but life has taken its toll there, too. Wear and stains are evidence of that.

But now, I know I have a new position, a new seat if you will, in Christ.  I have a general idea of when I’ll actually get to sit in my new seat and when I do, I’ll cast off my old worn out seat forever!

Thank you, Lord!
